# Vectors

In mathematics, arrows are used to display the displacement of a given point. The arrowhead indicates the **orientation**.

This oriented line segment can be displaced without changing the *direction, length and orientation*.

Together all these arrows form the **vector** $\vec{a}$.

!

### Remember

All arrows that are

*parallel*and have the*same orientation*and the*same length*are called**vector**.i

### Hint

A vector is a set of infinitely many arrows. However, one arrow is enough to depict them. It is a

**representative of the vector**.
