Hint

You can omit the number bracket and the sign if the numbers are positive. For example: $(+4)=4$
!

Remember

When you expand number brackets,
  • and you have the same signs, you put a plus sign
  • next to each other.
  • and you have different signs, you put a minus sign next to each other.

Examples

    same signs: $\color{green}{+}$

  • $8\color{green}{+}(\color{green}{+}3)=8\color{green}{+}3$
  • $9\color{red}{-}(\color{red}{-}3)=9\color{green}{+}3$
  • different signs: $\color{red}{-}$

  • $8\color{red}{-}(\color{green}{+}2)=8\color{red}{-}2$
  • $7\color{green}{+}(\color{red}{-}3)=7\color{red}{-}3$
