Compound fraction
A compound fraction is a fraction that has at least one component of another fraction.

The main fractional line replaces the divisional sign and should, therefore, be drawn longer than the other fractional lines.

Method
To resolve a compound fraction, you can simply replace the main fractional line with a divisor and then divide the fractions..
Examples
- $\frac{\frac{2}{3}}{4}=\frac{2}{3}:4=\frac{2}{12}=\frac{1}{6}$
- $\frac{2}{\frac{3}{4}}=2:\frac{3}{4}=2\cdot\frac{4}{3}=\frac{8}{3}$
- $\frac{\frac{3}{2}}{\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{3}{2}:\frac{1}{2}=\frac{3}{2}\cdot2=3$
